     中华民国1916年6月，黎元洪在袁世凯死后继任大总统，恢复约法，召集国会。当时的武昌造币厂铸制了黎元洪像开国纪念银币，银币有黎元洪戴军帽像和黎元洪免冠版铸两种。中国近代发行的银币有上千种，但纪念银币仅占几十种，其中由武昌造币厂铸造的黎元洪开国纪念银币，其影响仅次于孙中山开国纪念币。

此黎元洪免冠版开国纪念币，正面图案中央为黎元洪免冠版头像，珠圈外上环为"中华民国"4个字，下环为"开国纪念币"5个字，珠圈外左右两侧有梅花图案，背面图案中央是竖写"壹圆"面额字样，珠圈外上环为英文"中华民国"字母，下环为英文"壹圆"字母，两侧偏上有五角星。设计美观,铸工精良,传世稀有，具有非常高的艺术性。
